$1.787bn Powerball jackpot shared by Missouri and Texas tickets, September 2025

Saturday 6 September 2025 · Powerball

The Powerball jackpot had not been won since 31 May 2025. The Saturday 6 September draw was the 42nd since then, at the time the longest run without a jackpot winner in the game's history, and final ticket sales took the prize to $1.787 billion.

The numbers were 11, 23, 44, 61 and 62, with Powerball 17. Two tickets matched all six, one bought in Missouri and one in Texas. At the time, only the $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot won in California in November 2022 had been bigger in the US.

Each winning ticket was worth either an annuity of $893.5 million, paid as one payment now and 29 yearly payments that rise by 5% each year, or a single cash sum of $410.3 million. Both figures are before tax, and US federal tax alone takes a large share.

Further down the prize table, 18 tickets matched all five white balls to win $1 million, and two with the Power Play option won $2 million. The jackpot then went back to its $20 million starting level. Both records fell within months: the next run lasted 47 draws and ended on 24 December 2025, when one ticket in Arkansas won $1.817 billion, pushing this jackpot to third on the US list.
