Anonymous UK ticket-holder claims £177 million EuroMillions jackpot

A single UK ticket matched every number in the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday 26 November 2024 and won the jackpot of about £177 million. The winning numbers were 07, 11, 25, 31 and 40, with Lucky Stars 09 and 12.

The prize put the winner third on the list of the largest National Lottery wins at that point. Only two tickets had won more: an anonymous player's £195 million in July 2022, and the £184 million won by Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester in May 2022.

Later that week Allwyn, which runs the National Lottery, said it had received a claim. The ticket would be checked before any money was paid, and only then could the winner decide whether to go public. Andy Carter, Allwyn's senior winners' adviser, said the team would support the ticket-holder through the process.

The winner chose to stay anonymous. Allwyn said it would not reveal whether the ticket belonged to one person or a syndicate, or where it was bought, unless the winner agreed.
