A £123.5 million EuroMillions win in June 2019 stays anonymous
Tuesday 11 June 2019 · EuroMillions
A single UK ticket matched all the numbers in the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday 11 June 2019 and won £123,458,008. It was the third-biggest UK lottery prize at the time. Only Colin and Chris Weir, with £161 million in 2011, and Adrian and Gillian Bayford, with £148 million in 2012, had won more.
For almost two weeks nobody knew who held the ticket, or whether it belonged to one person, a family or a syndicate. On 24 June 2019 Camelot said the prize had been claimed, checked and paid out.
The winner chose not to go public. Camelot said it had a duty to protect winners' anonymity and would give no further details of the claim.
It was the fourth UK EuroMillions jackpot of 2019. Patrick and Frances Connolly had won £114.9 million on New Year's Day, Ade Goodchild £71 million in March, and an anonymous player £35.2 million in April. In October that year another anonymous UK player won £170 million, which BBC News reported made them Britain's richest lottery winner at that point.
