Selsey couple win £105.1m, and builder Steve Thomson plans to keep working
Tuesday 19 November 2019 · EuroMillions
Steve and Lenka Thomson from Selsey, West Sussex won £105,100,701.90 in the EuroMillions draw on 19 November 2019, the 25th anniversary of The National Lottery. Their Lucky Dip ticket came from the East Beach Post Office and Candy Store in Selsey.
Steve, 42, was a self-employed builder. He checked the ticket a few days later while waiting for a lift to work, and said he thought he was close to a heart attack. Lenka, 41, worked in a shop and is originally from Slovakia. The couple and their three children lived in a small three-bedroom house.
They went public on 26 November 2019. A bigger home, with a bedroom for each child, came first on the list, along with a holiday. Their eldest asked for his own room, another son for a Tesla and their daughter for a pink iPhone.
Steve said he would not give up work and would complete the window and conservatory jobs he had already taken on. He also said he planned to be sensibly generous and to help the village he did not want to leave.
