Lotto ends the Millionaire Raffle and fixes its prizes, November 2018
Wednesday 21 November 2018 · Lotto
Camelot set out its Lotto changes on 3 September 2018, and the draw on Wednesday 21 November 2018 was the first under the new rules. The Lotto Millionaire Raffle ended with the Saturday draw before, on 17 November, and its prize money went into the main game.
Lotto itself stayed at six numbers from 59 for £2. What changed were the lower prizes, which became fixed: £1 million for five plus the bonus ball, £1,750 for five, £140 for four and £30 for three. Matching two numbers won a free Lucky Dip.
The £22 million jackpot cap was replaced by a rollover limit. The jackpot could now roll over at most five times in a row. If no one matched all six in the draw after that, the jackpot rolled down and was shared among the lower winning tiers.
Nigel Railton, Camelot's chief executive, said the draw games needed to stand out from each other and let people play in their own way.
