How to play Lotto

The numbers, the draw days and what the prize tiers are. For the numbers from the latest draw see the Lotto results.

Picking your numbers

Pick 6 numbers from 1 to 59.

The Bonus Ball is drawn from the same balls after the main numbers. You don't choose it: it only counts in the prize tiers that name it.

Each draw has two rounds, and every line is entered in both.

Draws are held Wednesdays and Saturdays.

In short: Every Lotto draw has two rounds, and each line is checked against both. Round 1: match all 6 numbers for the jackpot. Round 2: match 5 numbers plus the bonus ball for £1 million. In both rounds, matching 2 or more numbers wins a prize, and the bonus ball only counts with 5 numbers.

The prize tiers

What each tier paid in the draw on Wed 7 Oct 2026. Most prizes change with ticket sales and the number of winners; the fixed ones stay the same.
